Roam Around the Walt Disney World! ~ Disney Trip Video!

After every Disney vacation, I like to take all our pictures and compile them in a video montage! My last trip was a little different from the rest. Usually, it's just my husband and me but this time we had family join us for this very busy weekend trip! This trip included the Epcot Food and Wine Festival, the Halloween 5k, the Magic Kingdom's 40th anniversary celebration and Mickey's-Not-So-Scary Halloween party! I think you'll find this video DEFINITELY shows how adults can enjoy a vacation to Walt Disney World!

The Magic Kingdom's treasures (in my eyes)

The Magic Kingdom is my very favorite park.  It always is the park that I visit first.  I can spend hours just walking into this wonderful world and never get bored.  I just feel happy and peaceful.  This post will be the first in a series of tips, or as I call them "treasures" of that park.

A lot of aspects of parks are often forgotten about.  In an effort to see it all, we don't always take time to appreciate the little touches and details that surround us.  The first one is that little side street on Main Street USA.  .

(This picture does not belong to me.  I borrowed it from http://www.unknownmagicwithinwaltdisneyworld.com/2011/04/take-load-off.html)

This place always seems to be quiet and peaceful.  It is true that you have to want to go there to be there, since there is no attraction down there.  Other than a door from the jewelry store, there is barely anything.  When it is quiet, you can hear music from the "businesses" on the second floor  such as music and singing lessons.  I love to go get something at the bakery (my faves are either a huge apple turnover, or a cupcake) along with some coffee, and just sit there.  It is true that you have to walk back towards the entrance of the park (from the bakery) to get to that spot, but to me, it is worth it.

People watching is a great past time for veteran Walt Disney World goers.  I love seeing the happy people come into the park.  And that place allows that, and at the same time, you are able to eat your breakfast without the chaos that is often associated with the Bakery.  You get to finish your coffee and eat while no one is trying to get to the table next to yours by rolling over your feet with their huge stroller.

At certain times of day, you may even be able to watch the "silhouette makers".  As an art teacher and an artist, I love looking at them work.  They are so good.  I wish I could do that.

As you will see, my travel style is about stopping and smelling the roses from time to time.  My work keeps me going and running around all school-year long.  So when I have no agenda, I try to relax and recover some energy that has been left along the way.

One More Disney Day

Happy New Year! Welcome to 2012 ~ the year with an extra day. And to celebrate the extra day, Disney has just rolled out it's newest promotion ~  "One More Disney Day."

What does this promotion actually mean for us? Well, probably the most exciting part is the 60 Disney vacations being given away each day from now until February 29th. You can enter every day and believe me, I plan to!

As part of this promotion, Disneyland and the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World will be open for 24 hours from 6am on February 29 until 6am on March 1. I'm sure it will be very cool watching the sunrise in the Magic Kingdom.

In addition, if you book a room and ticket package for 3 nights or more, between February 26 and March 10, you will receive one free night! Must be booked by January 29th.

This may seem like a great offer but there are actually better deals available depending on package options, resort choice and length of vacation.

Other current available offers are:

*Save up to 30% at select resorts for travel between Feb. 21 – March 8, April 13 – May 24 and May 28 – June 14, 2012

*Save up to 25% at select resorts for travel between March 9 - 31 and May 25 - 27.

What's the blog all about?

"You're dead if you aim only for kids. Adults are only kids grown up, anyway."  - Walt Disney

This blog is created by and written for those of us who love to travel to Walt Disney World and don't need kids as an excuse to do it! Christy and I will be discussing our favorite things to do in Walt Disney World and the many ways that adults can enjoy all that the parks have to offer whether you bring kids with you or not!

Hello! I'm Nikki and have been a huge Disney fan all my life. My first trip was in 1982 at 18 months old and have now had a total of 19 trips! My husband and I have done long trips and short trips, stayed at value resorts and at deluxe resorts, but most importantly, we ALWAYS have a great time!

I think you will find something for everyone, as Christy's vacation style is laid-back and relaxing, while mine is, what some might call, "commando," except on the days when I'm enjoying a frosty beverage in World Showcase!

We've got so much to share so stick around!

Let me introduce myself!

Well hello!  How are you this morning?  Or shall I sing: "Good morning, good morning.  It's great to stay up late".  Ok, well I am not a citizen of Main Street USA (Even though I wish I was).  My name is Christelle and I'm 28 years old.  Yes, I am a Disney fan.  Yes, I've visited the Walt Disney World Resort a few times (13 times to be exact).  If you have never been to the Florida theme park, you may not get it.  But if you have, then you understand me.  I blame my parents (in part) for my obsession.  My first visit was in 1985, at the age of 2.  Let's just say that it was only the beginning.

Why do I want to write this blog?

Well, I've read a lot of books about traveling to Walt Disney World. Even though some were great, I do feel that they often forget something:  Walt Disney World is not only for kids!

I have never personally traveled with kids... only with adults.  And I feel that I may have some tips and reviews that might help you.  I don't claim to know it all, but I do believe that you learn from experience.  And if I can save some people from making bad decisions, then why not do so, right?

So join me in the retelling of some great and bad vacation memories.

And most of all:

Have a magical day!
